An Econometric Analysis of the Relationship between Industrial Electricity Consumption and Economic Growth in Türkiye (1991–2023)

This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between industrial electricity consumption and economic growth in Türkiye over the period 1991–2023. Electricity energy is one of the fundamental inputs of industrial production and plays a strategic role in ensuring sustainable economic growth. In this study, the relationships between industrial electricity consumption and key economic indicators such as industrial employment, industrial value added, and industrial output are analyzed using econometric methods. The analysis seeks to identify the direction and nature of long-run interactions among the variables. The findings are expected to contribute to the evaluation of energy and industrial policies in Türkiye by providing empirical evidence on the role of electricity consumption in economic growth. In this context, the study aims to enrich the existing literature by offering sector-specific insights into the electricity–growth nexus.
